Much of Karl's work reminds me of Cacophony's Speed
Metal Symphony, but with much needed and well spaced breathing room. It's
heavy, it's composed and shows the way that metal musicians are starting
to interface with computers.

Just by Karl's title, "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Cube,"
I had a gut feeling that I may have gotten myself into something dangerous;
or at least something different. Would you be surprised if I said I was
right? I didn't think so! From the heavy opening riff of the song, "This
Won't Hurt a Bit," I was in headbanging heaven. It was full of explosive
duo leads and screaming, crunchy rhythms. "Labyrinthine Eyes"
was a haunting Twilight Zone type ditty that was propelled by an eerie
bass line covered in dissonant harmony guitars. "Spaceman Spiff vs.
the Zoks" finishes off this masterpiece. Thumbs up for an original
title and cool songs!

Karl's
stuff blends serious rock heaviness with radical rhythm and harmony changes,
and the dissonance of 20th century classicists. No doubt about it - it'll
expand your mind.
